The Best Backyard Games for Summer

With the official start of summer just around the corner, you’ll soon have plenty of warm days to kick back and relax. On those days we hope you’re ready to enjoy some good old-fashioned backyard fun with friends, family, and neighbors. Ladder Golf

While alternating throws, you’ll score points by throwing bolas onto the rungs of the ladder.

Two or more players or teams

Croquet

Use mallets to hit balls through a series of hoops. The first to clear all hoops and hit the peg wins.

Cornhole

Players take turns throwing bean bags and aiming to make it on the board or in the hole.

Spike Ball

Hit the ball off the net with the goal of the opposing team unsuccessfully returning it.

June 16: Zoo Nights – Kick off summer with good food and live entertainment at the Oregon Zoo! Zoo Nights takes place on five Fridays, from June 16th through August 18th. They will have local music, food carts, activities for all ages, and showings of animals active during twilight hours. Tickets are $24.

June 23-25: Festival of Balloons – Celebrate the Tigard community with an impressive display of more than a dozen brightly colored hot-air balloons that you can enjoy with the entire family! June 23-25: Lake Oswego’s Festival of the Arts – Enjoy a free arts education festival with unique art exhibits, live music, performances, kids’ activities, artist demos, and food!
